Title: Yellowstone: Hellfire

Author: Bobby Akart

Publication Date: Aug 2018

Genre: Post-apocalyptic

Score: 3/5

A journeyman effort in post-apocalyptic fiction. There weren’t any grammatical errors. The author is a… libertarian? Maybe a right-winger? There is a glowing portrayal of Trump included. It made me laugh. I guess the joke’s on me though because I finished the book (and purchased it.) The libertarian elements are noticeable

The Yellowstone caldera is one of the biggest threats to mankind. One that could erupt at any time and put the survival of every living creature at risk of extinction. But the eruption of the massive volcano is not the only thing that is a threat to Jake and Ashby as they make their way to California and hopefully the safety of Mad House owned by Jake’s parents and then on to Saratoga. No, the ugly side of man has started to show. Those who haven’t prepared for an emergency are getting hungry an ...more

This author is a blank blank, blank, blankety blank. In more generous terms, he is a libertarian and a misogynist. Oh, "women must be tamed (direct quote)," "government is always bad," et cetera, ad nauseam. Don't read this author. Ever.
Bored now...

I was hoping for an end of the world survival thriller, but what I got was high jenks and shenanigans.
Ashby and Jake are just too cute and sweet for words. Seriously, their loving banter makes me want to throw up. They are in a very serious situation, what with the supervolcano blowing up, and the end of the world, (and the sharks. Let's not forget the sharks) so you'd think they'd be more worried and concerned. But no, love will conquer all, yada yada.

Pushes his political agenda

Read both the first and second book. Good premise but he tries to push his political agenda. Once or twice is fine but it just seems constant.

If you have been reading the articles on Yellowstone National Park, you have seen that there is new activity occurring. New fissures have opened up and geysers that haven’t erupted for years are now erupting and with more frequency. The scientists are saying that there is no imminent danger of an eruption from the Yellowstone Caldera…just as they kept saying in the newest series Yellowstone by Bobby Akart. But one woman, Dr. Ashby Donavon, a volcanologist, knew better. Having lived through the e ...more

As Jake and Ashby finally reach The Mad House, what they hope will be their safe haven from Mother Nature’s wrath, they find not is all as it seems in this little piece of paradise. Bobby Akart spins a tale that will keep you awake at night and keep you glued to the news for any strange activity in Yellowstone. The more you learn the more you realize that there may well be no escape from this monster that lives and breaths under our feet.

Civilization exists by geologic consent, subject to change without notice. ~ Will Durant, American historian and philosopher

Three geologists specializing in volcanology from NASA are led by Dr. Ashby Donovan arrive at Yellowstone National Park to check out recent anomalies that might be precursors to the Yellowstone supervolcano erupting.

They are helped by Jake Wheeler, long-time National Park Service ranger, and by a BBC newswoman and her photographer.

"As each day passes, the rules no longer apply. If you live by the rules, you starve or get killed. Plain and simple.”

Jake and Ashby's survival story continues as they make their way through Idaho, Oregon and into northern California.

Their journey to safety isn't without life-threatening problems and they end up making decisions on the run.

I strongly urge you to start with book one of this series because each following book picks up the story right where the prior book left off.

This book was fast paced. I started reading and then I was done. Have to admit. I stayed home and read. Totally worth it.

Book three, we know what's going on, but the people they makes the book exciting, frustrating and I want to scream "What is wrong with you?"

“Were you ready to kill them all?” “Yeah, in the heat of the moment, I guess I was. Jake, here’s the way I look at it. As

Great read.

Really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to the next in the series. I love Bobby Akart's writing style. He always makes you think about how you would survive a major catastrophe. Have to admit I have never considered a volcano as being a major threat to our existence. I always enjoy the characters Mr. Akart writes. This book has plenty of action and suspense. Thanks for another great read.

Way too much political nonsense in this book. It was part of the 2nd book, but not as much. Such a let down to see the characters loose their sense of self and basically go around killing people left and right and stealing all over the place .

I really enjoyed this series. Filled with accurate information. Follow this series around Dr. Ashby a volcanologist and Jake who was a Yellowstone Park Ranger until it's explosion. This series follows them on a journey from Yellowstone to the islands of the Pacific Ocean just of the Mexican coast to find safety.

I got 70% of the way through this and just stopped. I should have stopped at book 2. This is one of those series where the author is just phoning it in and I'm done.

Slow down, Bobby; you're far to good a writer to turn out crap. Also, get a better narrator.

Take some deep breaths before you start this one, because you will need the extra oxygen. If you have any questions about what a caldera or magma chamber is, hopefully those were cleared up in Yellowstone: Hellfire. For a work of fiction, it is loaded with facts that are bound to peak your interest. When we left them in Yellowstone: Hellfire, Jake, Ashby, Rita and Dusty, where being helicoptered as far away from the volcano as possible. Surviving the cataclysmic disaster

The second installment by Bobby Smart is just as good as book one of the series. Full of adventure, danger and surprises, Mr. Akart leaves us dangling on the edge of the cliff as we impatiently wait for book 3, Fallout.
The theme of Yellowstone: Inferno is survival in the difficult conditions following the eruption of the Yellowstone super volcano. Facing adversaries such as ash that is several feet deep, injuries, and even facing wild animals - including the hum

This book is a 65% rip off of the movie Dante's Peak, with a few sprinklings of Trump Love and trying to legitimize conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and The Drudge Report. What a waste of a good Sunday afternoon.

Yellowstone: Hellfire was a book that I honestly had zero idea was coming out (let alone so soon after I finished the Lone Star Series). I knew he was working on something else and I might have even ventured a guess in a contest of his but I wasn’t expecting this series.

I can tell that he put a ton of time into researching the Yellowstone series. Hellfire is one of those books that mig

Dr. Donovan predicted that Project Hydro drilling into the mantle below Yellowstone would trigger an eruption. She's really hating being right!

Rick Younger, head of the Yellowstone Volcanic Observatory and executive of Project Hydro, really thought that piercing the unstable magma chamber under Yellowstone and pumping water into the mantle would drive turbines to create energy was safe and was a good idea. Dr. Ashby Donovan thought otherwise and was vocal in her opposition. Dr. Donovan and her t

UnIAn Extinction Level Event is building in the Yellowstone Caldera. Warnings were dismissed and any way of stopping a Super Volcanic Eruption is much too late!

The Master of Apocalyptic Disaster, author Bobby Akart, has glanced into his crystal ball and delivered a terrifying glimpse into the dark side of the beautiful Yellowstone park area. It's been six hundred thousand years since the last eruption of the Yellowstone Super Volcano, and it's overdue for a repeat performance.
